Cowling mount jig

Cowling

To achieve the accurate distance between the engine propeller mount and the external disc, you will require three spacers. The gap between the spinner baseplate and the engine propeller mount measures 39 mm. To create a 6mm distance between the cowling and spinner baseplate, subtract 6mm from 39mm to obtain a distance of 33mm from the engine propeller mount to the outside disc.

The initial step in fitting the cowling is to create a jig affixed to the propeller flange. This jig establishes the focal point for installing the cowling. I utilized the board that comes with the Airmaster propeller hub shipping box, which already features appropriately positioned holes. In my case, the smaller disc that fits inside the hole measures 24.5cm in diameter, while the larger outside disc measures 25.6cm or more extensive. Nevertheless, it’s advisable to take measurements from your own cowling for accuracy.
